During its existence humanity passed through various stages of development both spiritual and technological. According to most popular classification here are five most important informational revolutions in the history of mankind:
- activities got implemented into human minds and language;
- invention of writing;
- invention of printing;
- invention of the telegraph and telephone;
- invention of computers and Internet.
Some scientists say that the next stage would be quantum epoch...but they are not quite sure, so we’ll see. Today we are living on the fifth stage of this classification, and seems like this is only the beginning.
Since first computer was invented (as it was called those days - fully automatic computing machine) its size was getting smaller and power was increasing in progression. Computers used to sent men to Moon had approximately 64Kb of memory and were operated at 0.043MHz. Just for comparison iPhone 5 has a 1.3 GHz dual core processor and 1Gb of RAM.
See that huge grey pillow in the middle? Some say that 1Gb of RAM is too little for posting photos to Instagram, but 64Kbytes brought men to Moon and back. Pretty amazing, isn't it? As you can see, comparing to Apple's the graphs of Apollo computer are not visible at all.
Technologies are our personal magic, we can make really amazing things using all those gadgets we owe. The first and the most important impulse in technological development is of course consumer. Consumers need things they will barely be able to use fully, here is why companies develop thousands of all possible devices and oversaturate market with practically identical stuff. That's why from time to time we can hear following phrases:

We'd like to start from one thing that's under almost everyone's thumb...that's a touchscreen. How many times you cursed your screen for being too slippery? Even in aviation the invention of autopilot in 1912 by Sperry Corporation made a revolutionary takeover. Since then there were lots of attempt to make something similar that will work for cars, and finally this day has come. Under the drum beat Self-Driving car from Audi rows into the parking lot.
In this demonstration, Audi used a prototype smartphone app to “call” the car. Vehicle started by itself, eased its way out of the garage, turned a corner, and parallel parked. Audi then showed off the car returning to the spot, parked normally between two cars. Engineers involved into this project say its likely a decade away from mass production.

Samsung promised a TV with an “unprecedented shape” at CES 2013 — an exaggerated bit of hyperbole that stands in stark contrast to the beautiful minimalism of the new 4K TVs. The floating design with integrated speakers is really stunning and unfortunately for their owners requires room redesign to fit this huge thing in.
According to Samsung these TVs will start at “under $30,000” for the 85-inch and go up from there, but expect to see the company bring this new design language to more mainstream sets in the years to come — moving the speakers to the frame thus producing even thinner panels.
