It’s quite understandable that we, as well as millions of other users are simply torn by desire to discuss the movie with our respected audience. As we have already promised at the beginning of our article, we will do it with greatest care. Let us just share a couple of thoughts on the plot and our impressions after watching the movie.
You know, watching "The Force Awakens" was like a trip into the past glory days for the author of this blog post. From my viewpoint, it’s difficult to find any analogues to the saga. Indeed, there hardly is a single person on earth (except for the tribes that are stuck in the Stone Age) young or mature one who hasn’t heard about Star Wars. The movie is ubiquitous and as cross-generational as Beatles music, for instance.
The movie critics say that “The Force Awakens” is the magical mystery tour of Star Wars and I entirely agree with them. Some of the viewers will say that this is not the greatest part of the Star Wars, but should it really be the best one? In any case, the movie left me pleased, shocked, delighted, dazed and hungry for more.
The story takes us on a magical mystery tour of the galaxy. Millennium Falcon is our vehicle. It is interesting to watch the young people learning with the help of a few old-timers how to access the Force-based magic that was always inside them.
The movie is shot through with mystery, which starts from the very first words of the crawl. From my viewpoint, the plot is perfectly structured to engage the viewer. The answers are perfectly balanced with the arrival of new questions.
Did you like the scenes of Galactic Senate politics in the prequels? They were as a background for me, that’s why the fact that we learn almost nothing about the state of the galaxy 30 years after the downfall of the Empire in “Return of the Jedi” didn’t really upset me. I think that questions like who Snoke is, how he came to lead the Empire-like First Order, and how the Resistance that opposes him is connected to the Republic are mysteries for another movie.
Can’t imagine Star Wars without brand new super weapon? In “The Force Awakens” it is even bigger and more apocalyptic than either of its predecessors. Since, Star Wars is and always was a space-based soap opera, the characters are what count. We won’t dwell on characters characteristics here because of obvious reasons. Putting everything in a nutshell, this movie has two heroes' journeys for the price of one. There’s not enough screen time to get to know more about the heroic acts of some characters (Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie)) as they qualify as the third leads. However, the relative lack of some bad guys is made up for by the focus on Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), who plays the part of a Dark Side devotee with anger management issues.
The movie is not devoid of humor. Actually, there are several laugh lines, most of which reveal with Han Solo’s arrival on the scene. Han Solo, Harrison Ford’s personage, deserves separate attention. His appearance and lifestyle can’t leave the viewer indifferent.
Some moments of “The Force Awakens” are so emotional that if you are sensitive by nature, you’ll probably need a hanky.
Well, talking about “The Force Awakens” ending, as soon as you understand that the lights at the cinema can go on at any moment, you begin to dream of the 2017 release of Episode VIII. Episode VII is a real feast for the senses. John Williams does his sterling work, as usually. He effortlessly mixes old and new themes. Industrial Light & Magic are combined really well, so you believe in the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy all over again. The movie is made with love for the franchise and its fans. Yes, it feels like Star Wars. Have you made your reservation?
