Great news for web designers and Photoshop enthusiasts! Adobe has updated Photoshop® CC (version 14.1). Photoshop CC is part of Creative Cloud™ with intelligent upsampling features.
Upsampling as of now in Photoshop has been an agony, as it involves enlarging images by “inventing” pixels that often ended up with blurry images. The new intelligent upsampling (and downsampling) algorithms allow for superior results in enlarging and reducing the size of your images. So, what actually does intelligent upsampling mean?
Intelligent Upsampling refers to the technique where you can take a low resolution image and make it print-ready. Even though downsampling has always been a more manageable option (involving) simply omitting pixels; the images many a times tend to lose detail. However, with Photoshop CC, you have the option of Bicubic Sharper that helps retain detail when downsampling.
Similarly, the new Preserve Detail algorithm does a MUCH better job of preserving edges. You can now manually choose Preserve Details or Bicubic Smoother to get better results.
Photoshop CC as a part of Creative Cloud™ implies that you can have access to all the latest updates and future releases of Photoshop the moment they’re available. Now you can also use ‘Save to Cloud’ feature to keep your files organized across multiple computers. Besides that, by integrating Behance®, you can share your projects straight from Photoshop CC and get immediate feedback from creatives around the world.
SMART SHARPEN
Photoshop CC’s Smart Sharpen feature is about rich textures, crisp edges, and distinct details. Considered to be one of the most advanced sharpening technology available today, it analyzes images to maximize clarity and minimize noise and halos while allowing you to sharpen for high-quality, natural-looking results.
Intelligent upsampling is the ‘brand’ feature of Photoshop CC. With this feature you can actually enlarge a low resolution image, which makes it look great with enhanced clarity in print. This feature also allows you to start with a larger image and blow it up to poster or billboard size. The attribute of the new upsampling feature is that it preserves detail and sharpness without introducing noise.
Having great photos (memories attached) being ruined by camera shake is a common phenomenon, which until now did not have a good way to fix it. But with the new Photoshop CC, you now have a solution to this problem – Camera Shake Reduction feature analyzes its trajectory and helps restore sharpness, irrespective of whether your blur was caused by slow shutter speed or a long focal length. It works to save your blurry shots by analyzing the path of the camera shake and minimizing the blur.
The new Adobe Camera RAW 8 gives you an advanced healing brush, radial gradients, and an upright tool that corrects the perspective of your photos. Another great feature is that you can actually apply Camera Raw edits as a filter to any layer or file inside Photoshop, and then enhance them any way you want. And with new Adobe Camera Raw 8, you get more precise ways to heal images, fix perspective distortions, and create vignettes.
This feature allows you to put routine processing jobs on autopilot. Here the commands use if/then statements to automatically choose between different actions based on rules you set up.
With this feature, you can apply Blur Gallery and liquefy effects nondestructively courtesy Smart Object support. Here, your original file remains intact as you add blur effects or push, pull, pucker, or bloat the image or video. In case you want to edit or remove the effects at any time, you can do so later - even after saving your file.
Now, you can reap the benefits of real-time image asset generation with the new Photoshop CC using Adobe Generator technology by skipping the hassle of manual asset slicing and export, when designing for screens; and saving tagged layers and layer groups as individual image files in formats you choose - all collected in a single folder.
The USP of using a Generator is that it allows you to create image assets in real time as you work, eradicating the tedious steps of copying, slicing and exporting each layer manually, and saving you hours of time. All you need to do is simply add a file extension to the name of your layer or layer group, and Photoshop will automatically create a JPG the contents of that layer. So, in case of any change being made to that layer, the file is immediately updated, PNG or GIF from.
This feature helps you resize shapes, edit them, and even re-edit them — before or after they are created. You may even edit individual corner radiuses in rounded rectangles. All you need to do here is specify your corner radius first before drawing the rectangle. So, for adjusting the corner angle, you can do so by hand using the path tools or create a new rounded rectangle. Moreover, in Photoshop CC, you can adjust the corner radius individually and export the CSS data for your website.
You can now access live previews at 100x faster speed now and more responsive when you paint on 3D objects and texture maps. With the powerful Photoshop painting engine, you can make any 3D model look terrific.
Behance® integration
Now you can share your ‘in-progress’ work directly from Photoshop CC to Behance® and get instant feedback from the creative community. You may then post your completed work to ProSite, a fully-customizable professional portfolio, incorporated free with your membership.

The new Photoshop CC now lets you import color swatches directly from HTML, CSS, or SVG to easily match existing web schemes. Improved 3D Scene panel
You can now make a smoother transition from 2D to 3D editing with the new Photoshop CC. This is done with a 3D Scene panel that has many of the options you already know from the Layers panel, like Duplicate, Instance, Groups, and Delete.
