This is a screenshot of the growth of my organic traffic from February to August 2018.

SEO stands for “Search Engine Optimization”.
It’s basically the process of getting your website or SEO templates to rank well in search engines so that you can get free organic traffic from search engines like Google, Bing or Yahoo.
No matter what business you’re pursuing, be it affiliate marketing, blogging, local businesses or even network marketing, as long as you have an online presence, traffic generation is one of the most important aspects to the success of your business.
And there are only two main types of traffic - Free traffic & Paid traffic!
Paid traffic is great as you can see immediate results and calculate ROI from there.
But the problem with paid traffic is that it can be expensive if you really want to generate good results (especially with Facebook Ads getting more and more expensive).
So, the budget becomes one of the main reasons preventing people from leveraging paid traffic.
On the other hand, free traffic doesn’t generate immediate results. It takes time for the results to show, and you need to constantly invest your time in it.
Simply put, to generate traffic, you need to either invest your time or your money.
In fact, SEO is the best free traffic method because:
- It’s reliable
- It’s targeted (if you’re doing proper keyword research and your content is relevant)
- It’s passive (you can do something once and get traffic, again and again, every single day)

My Top 6 Secrets to Boost Your Rankings in Search Engines
#1 Keyword Research
The very first step to winning the game of SEO is to do your keyword research properly.
You can just go out there and post random stuff that you “think” people will be interested in.
In fact, being too opinionated is the fastest way to fail in the online world.
Instead of “thinking” what people might be interested in, it’s best for you to analyze the real data because data won’t lie to you.
When you have a post idea, put it into a keyword research tool like Jaaxy to see how many people are searching for that keyword and how many competitors you have for that exact same keyword.
The last thing you want to do is to put up contents that few people are searching for; am I right?
Similarly, you wouldn't want to put up contents that have lots of high authority competitors because it’s too hard for you to rank well in search engines for very competitive keywords.
Let’s face it…
The furthest people will go when searching in Google is page two. If your content ranks on page three and beyond, you’re not getting any traffic from that post.
That’s the exact reason why many people are struggling with SEO.
I’ve come across many people who are frustrated that they’re not getting much traffic even though they’ve spent a lot of time and effort to create lots of content that they “think” are good.
But in the end, they’re not getting that traffic, so they are disappointed.
The very first thing before you even start writing a post is to properly research the keywords you want to target.

#2 Relevance
After you have chosen your keyword, it’s time for you to start researching and writing the actual content.
My best advice for writing is this…
Write to your readers, NOT search engines!
Some of you might have heard of things like “keyword density.” But let me tell you this…
That stuff is outdated.
Google’s main mission is to serve its readers and people searching for information.
They are constantly updating and upgrading their algorithm to provide the best search results for humans.
Google’s focus is on user experience (UX). So, for you to rank well in search engines, isn’t it a good idea for you to have the same goal as Google?
I understand that keyword density and stuff used to work a couple of years back, but Google is a lot “smarter” now.
As long as you have the keyword in your title and your permalink (URL), and let it appear at least once in your content, you’re good to go.
Just write content FOR your readers. Writing relevant and reader-friendly content is the most important thing to do.
Relevant content allows readers to stay on your site longer, and this tells Google that your content is good.
The time readers stay on your page (time on page) is one of the main factors which Google looks out for, as it shows that people are interested in your content.
It only makes sense for Google to rank your content highly in search engines for more people to see.
#3 On-Page SEO Tricks
After writing your content, there are seven things you do need to optimize your post for search engines.
That’s what we called “On-page SEO” - things that you can do on your website to optimize for search engines.
- Meta Title - This is the title you want to show up in search engines. It can be different from the title in your actual post. Optimize it to include your keyword and some captivating words, but make sure to keep it within 60 characters.
- Meta Description - Short description appeared in search engines. Include your keyword as well, and keep it within 160 characters.
- Keyword in Content - I’ve mentioned this in the previous tip about writing for your readers. You only need to have your keyword to appear at least once in your entire post.
- Image Alt Attribute (or Alt tag) - Make sure you have your keyword in one of your image alt tag as well. Image alt tag is to let search engines know what the image is about.
- Internal Links - Build links within your website. Link to other relevant content on your site with a suitable anchor text.
- External Links - This is NOT backlinks. The external links I’m referring to is the link from your site to another authority website. It’s best for you to link to some websites with high authority, like Wikipedia, where appropriate.
- Video Embed - You don’t have to create your own video. But it’s best for you to embed RELEVANT YouTube videos into your content. This can increase the time people stay on your site.
These are the seven steps I always take to rank most of my posts on page one or two of Google for my target keyword.
And that’s also how I managed to get over 1,000 organic visitors per DAY from Google.
#4 Consistency
Don’t expect your website to rank well in Google if you only have one post or a few posts.
Consistency is very important.
Just like being a blogger or a YouTuber, you need to consistently put up great content so that more people can see you.
And you know what…
Google does track how consistent you are, and your consistency can actually affect your post rankings in Google. That’s how serious it is.
Similarly, if you’re a YouTuber, your videos can rank better if you’re consistently publishing new content.
So, if you really want to make this big and reap the huge benefit of Google’s free targeted traffic, it’s time for you to start having a publishing schedule.
And if you have the budget, you can also outsource that to freelancers so that your website is constantly producing new content without you spending hours of hard work.
#5 Off-Page SEO (Backlinks)
Off-page SEO refers to the factors outside your site and which are also affecting the ranking of your post.
And what most people focus on for off-page SEO is link building (aka backlinking).
Backlinks are links pointing from other websites to your site.
The overall concept is that if you can get a backlink from an authority website, it tells search engines that your content is also good.
Your content is kinda like being “endorsed” by someone of higher authority.
And this is one important factor that Google takes into consideration for ranking your content.
However, Google has been shifting its focus away from this factor over the years because many people are abusing it by manipulating backlinks.
This is also known as “black hat SEO.”
In fact, there’s SEO myth that people think “the more backlinks you get, the better.” In reality, it’s all about the quality of the links you get.
So, if you’re caught using some shady tricks to build backlinks, your site can actually be penalized by Google.
On the other hand, if you’re able to build backlinks using the right strategies, it can benefit you a lot in terms of your rankings.
Two legitimate ways to build backlinks are:
- Guest posting
- Broken link building

#6 Engagement
Engagement refers to the number of comments on your post and the number of shares your post received.
In fact, this can sometimes override the power of backlinking.
For example, even though your site does not have high authority compared to your competitors. If your post received lots of comments and shares, Google will actually rank it higher than websites with much higher authority.
Engagement tells Google that you have a good content and that people are interested in your content.
That’s why the quality of your content is important.
You can afford to write things that are controversial to a certain extent because controversial topics encourage discussion and hence engagement.
