Hey, you, wandering across the Internet.
It looks as though you might be fond of reading or maybe you want to breathe fresh air into your mind. No matter the reason for opening this post, you will find an ultimate benefit for your IQ inside.
What should I start with?
Here’s a fun fact. I always thought that reading a proper book would be enough to change my life. No, I'm not that naive. (Maybe...Sometimes...Oh, well...Yes, I am).
My brain would assume that a few dozen sheets of paper imprinted with ink could make important decisions instead of me.
I would open a book with huge expectations and close it with as huge a disappointment.
The bewilderment was even greater. I read it carefully and thoughtfully, and then asked myself, why am I not in Bali? Why am I not as enlightened as Buddha?
Books can improve your mindset.
Books can bring you to the place where you want to be.
Books can turn you into the person you want to be.
But only if you have the will to change and if you are ready to take appropriate action. If you are thinking that after reading a certain book, you will be a completely different person, that is a misconception. You may be slightly better and you may find some answers to your questions, and you may even have a clearer understanding of what you should do to become the best version of yourself. But the book can’t do the work on its own, in spite of you. Here’s what you have to feel after reading a decent motivational book:
Phew, it’s not as scary as I thought. I CAN take a step towards changing my life. I WILL be a person of actions. I am READY to implement all the pieces of advice that I’ve just discovered.
So what should I choose? Books that others say I must read? Books that I am interested in? Books that can develop my personality? It’s not a “ black or white” choice, the answer is at the junction of those three points.
Books that challenge and evoke a thirst for moving ahead are the golden ones.

"Moneyball" by Michael Lewis
What is the book about baseball doing here? Have you ever wanted something so badly that you were prepared to overcome all possible obstacles? But society said that you “don’t fit in”? In fact, it’s the wisest business guide among all that exist.
“The Fountainhead” by Ayn Rand
If you are an American then you are familiar with this astonishing author. Ayn Rand has a startling talent to explain universal truths through the art of storytelling. This book is devoted to individualism and human might and it’s recommended as an introduction to “Atlas”, our next stop.
And it is going to be legen…
“Atlas Shrugged” by Ayn Rand
Call it a biased opinion, call it whatever you want, but I won’t stop recommending this wonderful creation to everyone I ever meet. I was introduced to it at the age of 16 and since then it’s been my favorite book. It’s full of layers, depth and meaning. I was surprised how “Atlas Shrugged” mirrored all my youngster’s thoughts yet gave me answers to so many questions and explained to me the importance of rational egoism.
“If you saw Atlas, the giant who holds the world on his shoulders, if you saw that he stood, blood running down his chest, his knees buckling, his arms trembling but still trying to hold the world aloft with the last of his strength, and the greater his effort the heavier the world bore down upon his shoulders - What would you tell him?"
“I…don't know. What…could he do? What would you tell him?"
To shrug.
“Steve Jobs” by Walter Isaacson
The moral of this book in one statement: “The ones who are bold enough to think they are able to change the world are exactly the ones who turn that Mother Earth upside down”. No, it’s not just a biography but a mind-blowing life guide.
“Miracle Morning” by Hal Elrod
Do you know that your personality consists of what you do on a regular basis and what you fill your life with? What if I tell you that success is a habit for which you can train and it has nothing to do with luck or your genetics? “Start your morning right”; aren’t you sick and tired of hearing this? Here’s the deal, this tip actually works. Download the book and find out how you can transform your life with a 5-minute daily routine.
“Rich Dad.Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki
What I personally like about this piece is that it empowers people to learn how money is earned. The author talks about his own path to financial independence, through failures and successes, through encompassing different industries and trying to acquire a universal experience.
The closing point
Glad you survived until the end!
I have the greatest expectation that you have picked a book, that will herald your fresh start. That sip of oxygen, that you came here for. Why do I care? Because I’ve been there. I know that you need inspiration, a push or a kick in the ass. Whatever you prefer, basically.
Give up hopes and dreams as it’s time to confront the thing that you always wanted to do and have usually put off for later. Nothing on Earth can develop your personality other than yourself. Only after making a move like this did I realize what I had been missing. It happened just after I read Ayn Rand’s book. It was too good not to heed. There was no excuse anymore for me not to reach my goals.
Hopefully, you will feel the same. Feel free to come back and discuss this post with us. Also, you can rate and share it with your friends. Who knows, maybe you will be able to change someone’s life and make the world a better place!
