How to Create Animated Snowfall Effect with Elementor

If you want to add some winter spirit to your website and liven it up, you can create a animated snowfall effect. Gently falling snowflakes will create a special unforgettable atmosphere and entertain your visitors.

In addition, the good news is that you don’t need any skills in coding. All you need is Elementor, JetTricks add-on for Elementor, and a little bit of your own creativity to make it uniquely yours.

JetTricks is an amazing plugin that allows creating a parallax effect, sticky elements, unfolding columns, tooltips, hotspots, “View More” break, element satellite, and section particles. With the help of the section particles feature, we are going to create a animated snowfall effect today.

Preparation Phase

There are a couple of steps that should be done before starting. First, go to Elementor and open Section Settings, situated at the top of the dashboard in the little blue window. Or, you can click on any empty section of the screen and go to Edit section.

Then, open a Layout and choose the Full Width and the Min Height in the Content Width and Height sections. In this case, the section will occupy all the width of the page. In addition, you will be able to change the height manually:

Now, let’s move to the Advanced section and see if you have a JetTricks plugin. If you have already downloaded it, you will see its tab:

When you click on it, just Enable Particles:

Below, you can see an empty field and a little note: Paste your particles JSON code here. Generate it from here. If you follow the link, you will get here:

Don’t be afraid because you won’t have to deal with any coding. You will just have to paste a generated code in this empty field at the end of the process. In order to not be distracted, just switch the card off. Go to the Page Background settings and enable the Hide Card option:

Create and Customize the Animated Snowfall Effect

By the way, as you can see, you can select a background color. For the record, it doesn’t affect the background color of your website. You can change it once you go back to Elementor. This option is available because it simply shows how your website could look if you change the background.

The major changes can be done changing the parameters in this little window.

The next section is called Interactivity and it contains three options: onhover, onclick, and modes. We are interested in the first two.

If you click next to the particle it will go away from the cursor. The same will happen to the snowflakes when a person clicks next to them. In order to avoid this effect, go to the onhover and onclick options and disable them. Now, whatever you do with your cursor near the particles, they won’t react on that.

Now, go to Particles to customize their Move.

For instance, you can enable or disable their movement, customize their direction (top, top-right, right, bottom-right, bottom, bottom-left, left, top-left), make them fall straight or random (if you choose for them to fall straight, they will flow strictly in one direction, which doesn’t look very natural). It is possible to adjust the speed and the out mode (you can make them bounce from the bottom of the page but this also doesn’t look natural).

In the Line Linked section, you can disable the option that links snowflakes to each other:

It is also possible to change the opacity of the snowflakes, their size, color, shape, density, and the number of them to create a really heavy animated snowfall. In order to add some naturalness to the snowflakes, you can go to Size option and randomize it.

Now, when we created the animated snowfall, we have to export it and simply paste it to Elementor. All you need to do is to Download the current configuration in JSON format.

Then, open it with your Notepad or any other text editor on your computer. Copy the code and paste it in the empty field in the Elementor > JetTricks > Advanced.

You might not believe it but the animated snowfall effect is now created! It wasn’t too big of a deal, was it?
