Episode 3: Should You Go Into Business with Others or Do It Alone?

You might have already got used to somebody new joining the Boagworld Web Show in each new episode. Naturally we have discussions with people who know the answers to your questions and are ready to share the knowledge they have on the topic.

Who is invited this week? Please, meet Carl Smith, the guy famous all over the Internet (a, so-called, web-celeb owning the http://www.devianthippie.com/ site), who came to talk about whether it is reasonable to go solo or setup a business partnering with others.

After a fun introduction Carl starts to talk about his experience of working with three equal partners. They were three people Carl really wanted. The idea was to build an egalitarian society. They were often called Peoples Republic of nGen.

Carl believes that running a business with partners has a lot of pros in the sense that you have somebody off whom you can bounce ideas. But you should have the right partner. Not only somebody you can trust but someone who also complements your skills.

After discussing the pleasures and drawbacks of the team work, Carl moves on to describing the situation where you are running your company on your own. He states that this really lets you really move faster and explains why such things happen.

Then he tells the guys about his final decision and current style of work. They also discuss the important issues of hiring employees. Paul, Marcus and Carl even cover the best ways of team building in this episode.

To wrap up everything mentioned above, we would like to say that this podcast is definitely worth a listen. It will help you make a decision whether to hire employees, partner with reliable people or be your own boss, in a word go into business with others or do it alone.

Thanks to those who follow our podcasts and have a nice listen. We bet that next week’s guest and discussions won’t disappoint you either. So, see you next Thursday.
