Microsoft powerpoint slides can speak a thousand words. A professional presentation design is twice more effective.
Before you start designing a logo, take into account a few important things. A logo isn’t just a cute little symbol. It is the face of your company that can make it recognizable in your target industry. So, follow these easy tips to create a memorable presentation of your brand.
Now as you know the tips to follow while designing a logo, let’s proceed to my selection of tools. The concept behind each of them is the same – you can create a logo in your browser completely for free. But to download it, some tools charge a price, while others allow you to do it at no cost. For that reason, I divided my selection into online logo creators with free and paid downloads. In terms of functionality, here are the main features that a good tool of this kind should have.
Find out what features each of these tools has in a brief checklist. And if you get interested, you can also read a more detailed description under that checklist.
First of all, let’s analyze the tools allowing you to download a logo design for free.
Designhill logo maker offers 1000+ custom symbols and fonts that goes with the array of industries that includes finance, health, education, food, law, religious, etc . One can easily create cool logo within minutes with our unique logo generator.
Logomakr comes with a huge database of icons provided by Freepik, Simpleicon, and others. Here are some of them.
Its toolbar features text, shapes and paint bucket option for coloring. To type your logo text, you can access 9 font categories, each of which is presented with different font families. There are three shapes, namely square, circle, and triangle. Objects can be moved, rotated, and resized by simply dragging. Once your logo is ready, you can crop it. Check an example of the final result below.
What Logomakr is missing, in my opinion, is an option to filter icons by categories. Also keep in mind that it’s possible to download your logo only in PNG and no other format.

Logo Garden offers 10,000+ custom symbols that can be filtered by the industry. There are 30 options including finance, arts, education, food, religious, etc. You can also choose a letter- or shape-based symbol.
The tool features cool symbol and text effects such as shine, shadow, reflect, and distress options. There is also a convenient color picker, but unfortunately there are not too many fonts – only 29 varieties. Here’s an example of what you can design using Logo Garden.
Users of the free version can download their logos only as JPEG images of low resolution and can edit them one time afterwards.

Online Logo Maker provides hundreds of symbols belonging to 36 categories, e.g. nature, decor, jewelry, business, beauty, etc.
Creating a logo, you can use options to rotate, move, resize and duplicate objects. What’s cool about this tool is a possibility to upload your own image to its working panel. In terms of styling, there are multiple colors for text, symbols and backgrounds. You can optionally apply a shadow effect to objects and control the shadow direction, distance and color. As for the assortment of logo-ready fonts, it offers 49 options. The interface of the tool looks a little outdated, but is still user-friendly. Take a look at the logo created with its help.
Take into account that your logo design is available for free only in PNG.

YouiDraw gives an access to 10 categories of logo designs crafted in different styles, from illustrative and cartoon to letter-based and minimalist.
When it comes to shaping your logo, you can choose from circle, rectangle, convex, concave, ellipse, and some other shapes. It’s also possible to add more luster to them by means of gradient colors and smooth effects such as reflection, blur, light, inner and outer glow, drop and inner shadows. As an example, I attached a screenshot of my logo below.
What’s cool, the tool can be connected to your Cloud Drive, which will let you save your logo there. You can also open an existing YouiDraw file from Google Drive and Dropbox. If you want to export the logo you’ve created at no cost, you’ll have to confine yourself to PNG and JPEG images with watermarks.

Zillion Designs logo creator allows you to choose a symbol by your profession from 54 categories. To narrow down your choice, you can also sort symbols by the style, e.g. antique, artsy, formal, casual, and others.
The tool comes with all the must-have options that include flipping, scaling, rotating, and zooming symbols. You’ll also have 28 fonts at your disposal. The potential of this logo creator can be illustrated with the following image.
The logo can be exported as JPEG, PNG and EPS files, but I could not download the latter. I was directed to the page with message reading “can't open file.” Hopefully, the problem is temporary.

Hipster Logo Generator is a simple tool equipped with the basic functionality. It can let you choose a logo shape from 7 options and add some swag to it, e.g. ribbons, shields, anchors, etc. The text can be typed with one of 10 fonts and arranged in a single, upper, side, double or triple line. You can also set a background image (9 options) and spice it up with a blurred, lightened, darkened or grayscale effect. Here is a screenshot of the tool’s interface and my logo design made with its aid.
Although Hipster Logo Generator is supplied with cool styling options, it still lacks diversity of shapes. A free download is possible only for PNG logo images of lower resolution. For inspiration, you may find it interesting to see how different sites use hipster logos.

Logaster is also among the tools to create your own logo for free. It’s possible to choose a desired logo concept from 22 types of activities and 1000+ variants.
In terms of typography, there are 64 fonts to use. What I personally liked about Logaster is a preview option. It allows you to check how your logo will look on a business card, paper, etc. You can also optionally add the slogan of your company to your logo. Look what I designed using the tool.
Unfortunately, there aren’t many effects to flavor your text and icons – only drop shadows are available. As for getting a freebie, you can download solely a watermarked PNG image of a small size at no cost.

Logotype Maker has 36 business categories, from which you can choose the closest one to your field. As you can see on the screenshot below, the first column is composed of free shapes, while others offer premium options.
To customize the text, you can use 3 color types (solid, gradient, web 2.0), various effects (reflection, drop and inner shadows or no effect at all), and 211 fonts. It seems like even the choosiest users will be able to find a necessary font. Among customization options of the logo shape, it’s worthwhile to mention resizing, rotation, visibility, coloring, and effects (drop and inner shadows). In the end, you can choose the background to represent your logo from transparent, one-color, radial, and gradient varieties. Take a look at what I created in the panel of the tool.
What caught my fancy about Logotype Maker is additional clipart library. With its help, you can add a unique touch to your company’s logo.
Although there are some shapes that can be downloaded for free, the majority of them are available for a price. Moreover, users of free options get an access only to a few fonts without any clipart.

Now, check the tools that make you pay for downloading a logo design.
Logo Maker provides a huge choice of icons – more than 10,000 unique options, to be exact. You can choose one by your industry (32 categories) or style (symbol-, abstract-, and letter-based icons).
Once you pick an icon, you will proceed to the panel with text and object properties. It’s possible to add 2 lines of text and choose fonts to each of them from 52 options. As for object properties, they include rotation, resizing, and coloring. Glance at the logo design created via this tool.
While the team behind Logo Maker took good care of supplying it with an enormous variety of icons, they seem to have overlooked the importance of styling options a little.

Designimo logo designs are divided into 30 categories (computer, legal, technology, etc). For greater personalization, you can select the right design by the first letter of your company’s name.
To experiment with objects, you can use the following rotation, flipping, resizing, center alignment, up & down movement, etc. There is also a sufficient amount of color options and 27 fonts. It took me a few moments to design the following logo.
The tool is easy to use and available for an inexpensive price, so it’s definitely a must-try solution. However, don’t expect to find any cool gimmicks like drop shadows in its panel.

Graphic Springs includes 40 categories of logo images (communications, dating, landscaping, etc) that can sorted by popular, new and random items.
The toolbar of Graphic Springs is also supplied 7 types of logo shapes (badges, swooshes, decorative, lines, etc). You can type your logo text with one of 37 fonts and polish it with stroke, shadow and glow effects. There’s an automatic color matcher that will help you make the color of your logo image and text blend well together. The tool allows you to preview how your logo will look on T-shirts, different kinds of stationery, and websites. Check how the logo created with Graphic Springs looks on a T-shirt.
Graphic Springs seems to be a really good tool. However, in the category of basic logo shapes, there are all the major geometric figures except for one, i.e. a pentagon. So if your company is related to it in one way or another, you may want to opt for another tool.

Design Mantic is packed with 5,000+ logo samples, each of which is available in 4-6 color variations. They are categorized by industries (36 categories), letters and symbols.
The tool is supplied with all the standard functions, particularly text movement, image resizing, color changing, object rotation, etc. In the dropdown menu, you can access 41 fonts and choose from multiple font sizes. Also feel free to enrich your logo design with a shape if you like. There are 7 categories of shapes including animals, lines, symbols, basic, decorative, swoosh, and clipart. Here’s what I designed in the panel of Design Mantic.
Design Mantic is an ideal solution for everyone who needs a flat look for their logos, as it provides no depth-adding effects like shadows. However, there are some logo samples that come with a shadow effect by default.

Logogenie gives an opportunity to choose a logo icon from 12 business niches.
The next step is to fill in 3 text fields and align each of them above, under, on the left or right side of the chosen icon. To type the text, the library of Logogenie fonts includes 47 options. As for styling, you can try glossy, shiny, drop shadow, glow, gradient, and inversed gradient effects. Take a quick look at my logo design accomplished with the help of this tool.
Compared to the other tools, Logogenie has fewer categories, so you may be limited in adapting your logo to the industry you’re involved in. At the cost of nearly $67, logos designed with this tool seem to be overpriced a little.

This tool boasts a collection of 2,500+ logo designs divided into 26 categories (automotive, cleaning, home, kids, vacation, etc).
As soon as you choose an appropriate design, you will go to the blank canvas. You can customize your text and slogan with one of 9 fonts, different colors as well as bold, italic, and streamlined options. The look of objects, both text and image, can be enhanced with drop shadow and blurring effects. To illustrate its capabilities, here’s a screenshot.
Your logo costs $29.99, but if you share it on Facebook or Twitter, you’ll get a 25% discount. In general, the tool is intuitive and simple, even oversimplified I would say, as it doesn’t offer a lot of customization options.

Tailor Brands allows you to pick a logo design based on the icon, initial, and name of your company. To let the app understand your preferences better, you are offered to choose from two text styles by clicking on the preferable one. Next, you will see a carousel with 6 logo variants, each of which is shown with the percentage of meeting your requirements.
Once you choose one of 6 designs, you can customize its fonts, shapes, and colors. It’s also possible to add a tag line with your slogan there. Under the carousel, there are logo previews on the desktop, Facebook page, mobile screen, business card, shopping bag, and T-shirt. Check how my logo looks on the display of a smartphone.
When the app tries to understand you better, you have to click on different logo images many times, which feels annoying a little bit. The team of Tailor Brands also states that their price of $39 is lowest one on the market, but there are cheaper online company logo generators, in fact.

Logoshi is a solution for everyone who isn’t a good artist, as it will do everything for you. Just write the name of your company, choose a grid shape (circle, square, triangle, hexagon) and move your mouse across the blank canvas a little. That’s all. The tool will automatically generate a logo with a proper size, position and alignment.
Regarding stylistic changes, there are 20 colors, 21 fonts and 8 layouts to choose from. You can preview the result of your work on papers and the building of your company. Here’s mine.
The tool uses a non-standard approach of logo creation, which may not do for everyone. What it lacks compared to similar options is an assortment of logo symbols. But those of you who need something uncomplicated may find it helpful.

To sum it up, Logotype Maker seems to be the coolest solution among others. It comes with all the must-have features and offers a wide range of options to choose from, i.e. 210+ fonts, 35+ categories, different color types and effects, etc. Depending on your budget, you can choose either a free shape or a paid one to work with.
